How Gemix is Played

Cascades and the Crystal Charge Meter

Every win during a round fills the crystal charge meter. Once the meter is fully charged and no further cascades are possible, the Crystal Charge feature is activated, triggering one of four special effects on the grid:

  • Chain Lightning: Two opposite corner symbols send out an electrical arc, transforming symbols into one of those corner symbols.
  • Light Beam: Light emits vertically and horizontally from a chosen symbol, changing all symbols in that row and column to other symbols.
  • Crystal Warp: A specific symbol is selected and all its matches on the grid are transformed into other symbols.
  • Nova Blast: A chosen symbol explodes, removing adjacent symbols and forming a core of identical symbols.

After any effect, the game proceeds as normal, potentially charging the meter again for further effects within the same round.

Super Charge Feature

If you succeed in making additional winning combinations and fully super charge the crystal charge meter before cascades end, all wins from that round, including those after any Crystal Charge effects, are multiplied by 3. This Super Charge can only occur once per round.

Exploring Worlds and Patterns

Gemix features different worlds, each with its own set of challenges and unique wild symbols. Every world contains three specific patterns, which are highlighted on-screen. Achieving cluster wins on all marked positions clears a pattern, unlocking the next one for the current world. Clearing all three patterns advances you to the next world and awards the World Bonus, which increases with every win made during that round.

Types of Wild Symbols

Each world introduces its own form of wild symbol to assist in forming clusters:

  • Miner’s world: Up to 10 wild symbols may fall from the top, replacing regular symbols at random positions.
  • Princess’ world: A wild symbol originates from an edge symbol and spreads through adjacent symbols to another edge, creating more wilds along the way.
  • Wizard’s world: Up to 8 sticky wild symbols can appear. These remain in place, unaffected when symbols below are removed and do not disappear when part of a win. Sticky wilds last for one game round or until a Crystal Charge effect is triggered.

Wild symbols replace any other symbol to help form winning clusters. Wilds are removed from the grid if they make up part of a successful combination, except for sticky wilds, which behave differently as described.

Game Integrity and Unfinished Games
