The game starts with five gladiators displayed above the reels in a deactivated state (greyed out).
All five gladiators must be activated at least once to trigger the free spins bonus features.

Each of the gladiators is activated by an ‘I Am Spartacus win’ which happens when the gold wild forms a winning way with that gladiator’s weapon symbol.

Gladiator Modifier Features

  • Base game only.
  • Triggered when an ‘I Am Spartacus win’ occurs.
  • The gladiator associated with the winning high-paying gladiator weapons symbol modifies the paid spin in a unique way:
    • Gladiator 1 (Crixus) converts one or more of the winning high-paying symbols in reels 2 to 5 into a silver wild.
    • Gladiator 2 (Gannicus) except for reel 1, converts the gold wild and any silver wild or sword symbols into sticky wilds, then triggers a panel re-spin.
    • Gladiator 3 (Castus) triggers a re-spin and randomly awards 3, 5, or 7 silver wilds on reels 2 to 5 while the reels are spinning.
    • Gladiator 4 (Valeria) applies a 2x, 3x, or 5x multiplier to the panel win.
    • Gladiator 5 (Livia) converts one of the winning high-paying symbols or wilds in reels 2 to 5 into an expanded wild.
  • Sticky wilds remain in their position while a re-spin takes place and are removed when the next paid spin takes place.

Spartacus Free Spins Bonus Feature

When Spartacus has freed all 5 gladiators, free spins is triggered with all the collected free spins, wilds, and multipliers returned to the player.
The free spins feature is played on a 4-row, 5-reel panel and up to 1,024 paying ways and starts with:

  • The number of free spins collected by gladiator 1 plus an initial 7 free spins.
  • The number of sticky wilds collected by gladiator 2.
  • The number of silver wilds collected by gladiator 3.
  • The win multiplier collected by gladiator 4.
  • The number of expanded wilds collected by gladiator 5.

These collected power-ups are then randomly returned to the reels over the course of the free spins. Occasionally it might not be possible to completely use up all stored gladiator power-ups in a bonus feature, in which case the remaining power-ups remain stored when the player is returned to the base game.
Sticky wilds remain in their position for the remainder of the free spins bonus feature.
‘I Am Spartacus wins’ do not occur in the bonus feature.
